Queens Game: the free daily Queens puzzle
Queens is a logic puzzle played on a coloured grid. Crown one queen in every row, every column and every coloured region, and never let two queens touch, not even at a corner. Every board on QueensGame.com has exactly one solution, and you can always reach it by logic, without guessing.
Play the free daily puzzle, the same 7×7 board for everyone, or switch to Unlimited for endless boards in three sizes. If you know the Queens puzzle from LinkedIn, the rules here are the same. It works on your phone, tablet or computer and needs no sign-up.
How to play
Queens is a logic puzzle with no numbers. Crown one queen in every row, every column and every coloured region, and make sure no two queens ever touch.
The rules
One queen per row and column
Every row and every column holds exactly one queen. Once a row has its queen, every other cell in that row stays empty.
One queen per colour
The board is split into coloured regions. Each region also gets exactly one queen, whatever its size or shape.
Queens never touch
No two queens may sit side by side or corner to corner, so a queen blocks all eight cells around her.
One answer
Every board has a single solution you can reach by logic alone. Queens that clash turn red straight away, but a queen in the wrong spot that breaks no rule yet is not marked, so check your reasoning before you move on. The board lights up when it is solved.
Solving tips
Start with small colours
A region of one or two cells has almost nowhere to put its queen. It is often forced from the first move.
Cross out first
Marking cells that cannot hold a queen is most of the work. The queens appear on their own.
Block the neighbours
After every queen, cross out the eight cells around her. New forced moves usually follow.
Colours in one row
If a region sits entirely inside one row, that row's queen is in the region. Cross out the rest of the row.
Mark before you place
Use ✕ freely on cells you have ruled out. Only place a queen when you can say why she must go there.
Pair the regions
Two regions squeezed into the same two columns use up both columns. No other queen can sit there.

About the game
QueensGame.com is the daily home of Queens, the logic puzzle in which you place queens on a coloured grid so that no row, column or colour has more than one, and no two queens touch. Each day brings one new 7×7 board, the same for every player, with a timer so you can compare results.
Unlimited mode has endless boards in three sizes, each checked for a single solution before you see it. Everything is free, works in the browser and is available in English, French and German.
FAQ
A logic puzzle where you place queens on a coloured grid: one per row, one per column, one per colour, and no two touching. It is related to the classic eight queens problem, but queens here only block the cells next to them, not whole diagonals.
No. Every board here has exactly one solution that can be reached step by step.
No. Two queens may never share an edge or a corner.
Only when queens clash. Two queens that touch, or that share a row, a column or a colour, turn red straight away. A queen in the wrong spot that breaks no rule yet is not marked, and there are no hints, so the board lighting up is your proof that every queen is right.
It starts when the board appears and stops when the last queen is placed correctly. It pauses while the tab is in the background.
Everyone who has solved at least one board today, daily or unlimited. Each person is counted once, and the count starts again at midnight UTC.
No. QueensGame.com is an independent site with its own boards, but the rules are the same as the Queens puzzle on LinkedIn, so you can practise here as much as you like.
Every board is generated by computer, then checked by two separate solvers to make sure it has exactly one solution and that it can be finished by logic alone. The daily boards are prepared years in advance, so a new one is always ready at midnight.
